Event 20: Chip Leader Drops

$3300 + $200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Roman Valerstein - 517,200

Roman Valerstein (Philadelphia, PA) had 750,000 and was the tournament chip leader until the very last hand. He got a little out of line with 8-9 of diamonds on a diamond heavy 6-6-2 flop.

"I had two overs and a flush draw and I shoved" said Roman. Opponent had Q-Q and called.

That brings our former-chip leader down to 517,200. I broke the news to him that for a few moments there he was the chip leader.

Roman was very surprised figuring the cl had 1,000,000. That's why you gotta read the blog even at the table.

However, if he wins that hand, he's up to 1,000,000 and is the dominant tournament leader going into Day 3.

Play has stopped for the night. We will post chip counts of leaders and notables very soon.
